ONLINE ONLY AUCTIONS at www.rapidfireauctionservice.hibid.com
An estate auction liquidates the contents of a loved one's home. An owner may wish to downsize their belongings or collections through a Living Estate Auction. In some cases an executor/executrix may be named as the person legally responsible of dispersing the property of a deceased or disabled individual. Executors/executrix's must notify all noted beneficiaries of an upcoming estate auction giving them the opportunity to bid if desired.*
We highly suggest that you consult your attorney for executor/executrix requirements for estate auctions.
Estate auctions can be held on the grounds that holds the property or brought to the auction house and ran in an online auction.
Auctions held on-site will require the home/property owner to allow potential buyers to roam the property during the sale and having insurance the covers the property/individuals for any potential accidents or injury. Additional expenses will include (but are not limited to) fees for multiple bid callers, cashiers, ring men, advertising, portable restroom(s), and signage as examples. Having food on site on the day of the sale will also encourage buyers to stay longer. Buyers bid the same as a live auction at an auction house with typically a short time to purchase an item.
Rapid Fire Auction Services can accept estate items at the auction house by appointment only. Acceptance depends on the type of items, available space, and our current auction schedule. For a higher commission rate, an estate can be packed and pick-up by Rapid Fire Auction Services to conduct an online auction through the Milton, KY, auction house. We do appreciate clean items and pre-packing which speeds up the catalog and online auction process. Rapid Fire charges an additional fee to box up and estate for moving.
Keep in mind that an auction service is not a cleaning or moving service or to be used for trash pick-up.
Due to limited storage space and the owners schedules, Rapid Fire typically hosts one auction a month. Auction items are photographed and then cataloged to upload to an online auction format. Ads and social media posts are provided by the auction service with winning bidders picking up items at the auction house on designated days. Preview days at the auction house are provided so items can be inspected in person.
Online auctions run 10 days, allowing bidders ample time and the convenience to bid on any items. Not only does this allow more people to see auction items, but allows the convenience of bidding 24/7 up until the close of the sale.
